Welcome, everyone!
I’m so glad you are here. Today is my Son’s 2nd birthday and I chose this day to start the celebrations of my blog’s 5th Anniversary with you all. My blog turned 5 last month but since I was a little caught up, I decided to postpone the celebrations to get enough time to plan. I failed. 😀
Today, my sweetest friend Piyu has done a post for me to help celebrate the event. I just wanted to write a little about her and us. She blogs HERE. When I started paper crafting 5 years ago, I tried quilling first. And while browsing, I came across her purple layout, that is still etched in my mind after all these years. She had used Martha Stewart punch and Hero Arts stamp set on it. I love it! She might kill me for sharing this LINK with you but I couldn’t help it!
We knew each other for a long time but really have come to understand each other pretty much during the time we spent talking and worrying when we both were pregnant. Her little girl was born 1 month and a week ahead of my boy. So, it is just not only the crafty connection we share, that makes our relationship special. I’m so glad we are friends. Thank you, Piyu, for everything!
Before I post what she made for today, I want to announce today’s giveaway. I bought a $20 GIFT CERTIFICATE to Neat and Tangled for one of you.
Let me now share Piyu’s post…
Thank you so much for making this amazing, bright and cheerful card, Piyu! I’m sure Agasthya will love it!
Hello Friends!
I am Priyadarshini a.k.a Piyu from “HandmadebyPiyu“.First of all, I would like to thank Sindhu for having me here to be one of the guests as a part of her celebrations. Sindhu, Thank you so much! I am truly honored and this means a lot to me. I wish you loads of success and many more such celebrations!
I started card making in 2008. Back then, I was just into paper quilling. I started stamping to enhance my quilled cards. Soon it took over quilling and now it is mainly stamping and watercoloring.
I am fond of floral water-colored cards and fun scenes with cute critters. I love detailing and hence I find it difficult to make clean and simple cards.
Today, I am sharing a fun scene card made for a very special, cheerful, naughty and extremely handsome fellow – Agasthya – Sindhu’s little boy who turned 2 today. Agasthya is just 2 months younger to my daughter Tania and these kids have made us even better friends. We have shared not just our crafting passion, but also pregnancy symptoms, anxieties to baby/toddler joys and worries.
For this card, I have used the cute critters from three My favorite things stamp sets – Adorable Elephants, Hog Heaven and Beary Special Birthday. I have used a lot of masking technique and colored the images using zig markers. I am madly in love with my zigs and just can’t do without them.
It’s a triple fold card. Here’s the first fold –
And this is the second fold –
I had so much fun making this card and I hope you liked it.
Love,
Piyu
